What would you buy?

1M - £45K with extras and service package.
M3 - £62K with extras and service package.

Which is the better buy?

Both on identical terms - £10k deposit, remainder over 3 years with guaranteed future value.

what do you mean by better buy?

just get the one you like best, drive them both and decide which you like.

You will get the M3 though!

Why is the more expensive M3 £700pm and the cheaper 1M £725pm?

M3 sums don't add up - only comes to 62k. Are you sure the GFV on the M3 isn't 35k?

Will be interesting to see how they do. Z4M's lost almost 50% of their price in the space of 12 months, although they've levelled since and that was during the height of the recession. The 1M is in limited numbers too I believe which may help.

Checked the figures - the M3 numbers are correct - the dealer is making a sizeable contribution. Works out at nearly £12,000 off!

Went shopping for a 1M have ended up ordering an M3!

Happy with my spec too.

I've just got slightly > 60k M3 with 10k deposit for 470 pm over 35 months....

Edit: contract hire... I give it back at the end... so no GFV as I don't own it...

That's cracking. I guess it is a business deal? And does that include VAT?

Congrats, well done & enjoy.

P.s. don't know why anybody would take the 1M over a M3.

Wait till you drive the 1m before passing judgement

I don't suppose you have a business? Business contract hire is quite attractive really. 3+35's going round for £570 recently on the m3's.

Inc VAT... personal... happy!

I guess with hire purchase / GFV deal of 25k, the car will be worth 30 so you've got 5 in your pocket...

If you need 4 doors, 5 seats.... M3
If you want a convertible....... M3
If you want a brand new coupe, 4 seats, more fun per£, more smiles per mile, hold its money better over the next 3 years (due to exclusivity)..... 1 series M everyday.

Nothing wrong with the M3 (a 4 year old car for £25k is gvfm), but from driving both, the 1 series is the more entertaining machine imo. And for that reason.... i don't know why anyone would take the M3 *coupe* over the 1M smile
