So, after 6 months of work my Griff is almost back on the road, final steps are sorting out the new brakes and I've hit a problem - I can't find anyone who can tell me a straight answer on what brake hose I need. I understand it's a different fitting to a standard Griffith front caliper, using the banjo type connector, but uncertain as to the length of hose I need or if the Tuscan hose will fit the Griffith brake line connector??

I've googled the entire internet it seems and called dealers, garages, friends - no one knows! confused

Can anyone who's been through this already help me out, please? The hose I need is for the Tuscan AP Caliper to a standard Griffith brake line, ideally braided.

Cheers thumbup

I have done exactly the same a few years ago on my griff, the ap caliper uses metric threads, 10mm from memory, and the griff has imperial on the end that you need to connect to.

I sent the old griff hose along with the banjo bolt from the caliper to merlin motorsport, and telling them what length I wanted the hose to be, within a coupleof days 2 nice stainless braided hoses came back that fitted on a treat.
get new banjo bolts and copper washers while you are at it as well.

Cheers for this Clive! At least I know there isn't an "off the shelf" solution that I'm missing, unfortunately yet another little expense I didn't budget for, but just keep telling myself it'll all be worth it in the end!

My calipers didn't come with the banjo bolts, any idea where I can source some new ones from? All of the TVR parts sites only seem to list ones for the Griff/Chim rear calipers?

Thanks again! smile

I got my banjo bolts for my AP caliper conversion on my Griffith from a company called Circuit Supplies on 01525 385888. Ask for Tim.
I also got a matching set of front and rear pads from them as well.
Hope this helps and good luck with the mods.

phone merlin, they will probably know what size you need.

Thanks Clive/Precat,

I'll try them both on Monday, as you say I'm sure one of them will be able to help. That's another item ticked off the "to do" list, only another 100 or so to go... wobble

Fingers crossed I might make the Growl...2012! banghead

I have the AP CP5200 Calipers. Andy at TVR Power advised that these are the ones I need.

Cheers S6 Devil, after your email I checked the banjo bolts from my old rears and they do indeed fit, so at least I know where to get the bolts from! biggrin

Hans, email sent, thanks smile

Just make up some new solid pipes with metric ends. I convert them all to metric as I go along.

Our cars were a mix of imp & metric when they left the factory so I've never seen a problem (hell even all the serp timing cover + water pump is metric on an 'imperial block'..)
