What's the ideal temperature required before redlining it?

Its not "ideal" to redline it
You will find peak power is earlier than the redline.smile

I would always make sure oil and water temps have reached their max.Dont just wait for the orange lights on the rev counter to go out, that would not be a good thing!

Just picking on this point, should ALL the orange lights go out? When mine is warm I have 2 reds and one orange - is this correct?

Yes the other orange ones go out within a minute or so,well before the car has warmed up properly.

Sorry Nedz, do you mean yes they should all go out or yes one orange light remains when fully warm?

Thanks

The final orange light and the two red lights will remain lit at all times.

As for running the car right up to the redline, I won't even consider using the full extent of the rev range until the oil temperature is right up.
