"file cannot be read" f*%*$ & @r53!!!

before I start sobbing, anyone got any bright ideas? I can view the images fine on the camera, but insert card into reader to transfer them to the PC and I'm getting errors occurring left right and centre, images are unreadable, get a "files are corrupt" message.

Brand New Sandisk card, first time I've used it. Thank god I turned down being lead photographer is all I can say right now!!!!

Did you format the new card before using it.

Try a different computer? Try USB from camera to PC rather than card reader?

All else fails it might be worth trying data recovery even though the stuff isn't technically lost

I did format it Andy, but I DID have problems formatting it, it wouldn't work the first couple of times, I took it out reinserted it and tried again and it worked. I've just tried cam to PC, no joy there, I don't understand it! Looking at the file structure of the card it's got a strange folder in there, named .* which I've never seen before.

yes, I can see the images on the camera fine.

so if you plug your PC into the camera you should be be able to read it.

It's brand new, unwrapped it before I shot the wedding, I shall be requesting a replacement!!! Still no joy trying to batch load BUT I've just managed to get 3 pictures off by randomly choosing files?! Going to try a new reader on new pc

Don't mess about with readers on the PC - just plug the camera straight into the PC.
