anyone got any experience of taking a guitar (electric) on easy jet recently?

Easy jet policy doesn't mention guitars as part of the allowable musical instruments - but the measurements of 30cm x 117cm x 38cm would be more than big enough for my guitar in a gig bag?

Guitars are OK - roadied with a band a couple of times and not had any trouble. Remember that's the only thing you can carry on, so make sure all of your clothes have massive pockets.

id never fly with a guitar in a gig bag, try and get a nice metal flight case if possible.

Hand luggage is OK, you at least get to keep hold of it. When we have to put stuff in the hold I have to keep reminding the band to not look out of the window while they're loading. Some of the stuff they do is shocking.

Some say you need to book a seat for it. It's all in the terms and conditions but I must confessed I've never actually tried it. I'd be too nervous about it ending up in the hold because some jobsworth said it had to be checked.

It's never been a problem, done it 20 times or so now. Always turn up in good time to get to the front of the queue, it's a nightmare wedging the guitars in the overheads when they're full.

Although at least you'd have some motivation for playing the "no space for my guitar" blues. hehe

To confirm, what do you need to do if it's a Fender? hehe
