Valve Seat Cutting ?

Just rebuilding the engine on our old Fiat 500 after an unscheduled valve/piston introduction (valve snapped), using a spare head that has sat for some time, putting new valves in but have been told by my dad who is an engineer that I will need to get the valve seats "re-cut" as there is a small area of corrosion which will be fine once recut but probably wont go with just lapping in.

Anyone know where/how to get this done ?

My dad gave me some info like you can get a tool or take it to an engineering place that specialises in that kind of work but not sure where to find either, most places just seem to swap engines rather than rebuild, am in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

A search on yell.co.uk for "engine reconditioning" brings up a load of companies who can do it. If you hang around here for a bit though, someone might give you a specific recommendation.

Spoke to a very helpful chap at a place called Quasar Engineering in Stockport, just said turn up and they will sort it, about £20 to cut the seats and lap the valves in so cheers for the tip !
