Illegal/unauthourised downloading of TV streaming

I would like to ask PetrolTed and Garlic if they think it is a responsible position for Pistonheads to allow the 'advertising' of illegal downloading of TV streaming on your forum?
I note that on the Le Mans forum you did not remove posts that pass on access information for illegal downloading of streaming. This is not a crime without victims. I am currently asking Eurosport to investigate if my account has been hacked into for this purpose. As a result I was unable to access my account during the race and could not get the race.
I note that on the Radio Le Mans forum all such posting is removed as quickly as possible?
I wonder how you would react if some aspect of your branding was used without your authority?

Have you reported the posts?, obviously the mods and PH employees aren't able to monitor all posts and rely on reports for anything that make be illegal I'm sure they would act straight away if notified I note that on the Le Mans forum you did not remove posts that pass on access information for illegal downloading of streaming. I'm not sure what you want us to say to your post then?
We do take this seriously, but PH were in Le Mans too so a moderator alert would have made sure we acted accordingly and promptly.
I'm sorry we couldn't assist, but as I haven't seen the problem report I must admit that I'm not 100% sure what I'm apologising for.

You are right, you have no reason to apologise. I just wanted to make the point about consequences, if we dont maintain standards of honesty and ethics then somewhere down the line someone might pay a price.
Perhaps just a note at the top of the forum not to include details of illegal/unauthorised download addresses??

Very tricky one this, if you post a link to a Justin or P2P stream are you breaking the law, is the forum breaking the law or is it just the streamer breaking the law?
If I remember correctly RLM asked that if you wanted to share links then do it by PM/email. I would suggest that PH do the same, just to be sure.
As has been said before PH and Haymarket are an easy target for legal action as they have lots of money.
My personal view is that if something is available, be it on a pay channel (Sky) or free (RLM audio), then don't post the stream address but if it's not available, like some ALMS races, then I have no problem.
I wasn't saying I won't apologise! What I meant was as I haven't been pointed to the problem post I was unsure of the exact complaint.
We don't condone anything illegal, but please report anything to us if you spot something dodgy as that's the fastest and most direct way to reach us
