Tick over

Hi,

Having picked up my 04 4.2 Cerb last week I'm just getting used to it. Pics will follow as soon as I get the chance Very different from my Tuscan.

QQ - sat in traffic for about 15 mins this morning and the tick over was 1100 rpm which seems very high to me (the Tuscan was 800). Is this correct? Should it be lower? Is it something I can easily adjust myself or does it mean getting out the laptop?

Easy to adjust. The adjuster is a screw on the drivers side bank just below where the throttle link rod ends.

Other point to mention is that the tacho may be over-reading it does on mine by ~150rpm.

Thanks Peter. I'll have a look at that tonight. Nice, coming from a Tuscan, to be able to open the bonnet without having to get the socket set out and ask the Mrs for help lifting it on/off!

You will still have to get the sockets out - the idle screw is under the top cover!

Thanks for the welcome. Quick pic of it before I actually picked it up. I've now given it a a thorough clean, clay bar and buffing so it's very shinny! not taken any other pics but will do later.

If you have probs with tickover let me know I'll show you. I'm having probs with my low revs pick up at mo which you'll find is a common 4.2 issue but one worth getting your head round. Can't wait to see the black beauty, might ask u to have a better look at my paint, see if it can shine!
