Do you teach it in school?

Are there any on ph prepared to defend your honour? Or do you just accept you should all be shot?

Im currently typing this from inside an Audi dealership, Ive left the wife to deal with the saleswoman, I refuse to tolerate her company any longer.

Lovely interiors though. Have you felt how solid the plastics are? Gosh they're solid, but they're soft to touch as well - that's the beauty of it. Ohhhh I love Audi interiors.

Just for balance: We had a thoroughly pleasant and professional experience in the last few months at an Audi dealership.

When I bought an Audi about 4 years ago, the salesman refused to deal with me any more and would only speak to my wife.

With hindsight I was an idiot going through with the purchase of that car.

I won't be dirtying their fake wood floors again.

The guy I used at Chelmsford Audi was superb both during and after the sale. Anthony if anyone is interested.

I get a bit fed up dealer bashing on here, I also had a pleseant experience in Mercedes (shock horror) perhaps Its how I deal with them ie human beings?

They are all with out a shadow of a doubt frikkin` useless. Just bought an A6 Quattro Avant for my Dad and got it from a superb specialists. I visted 5 different dealers on my travels, and not one could tell their arse from their elbow!
My Mum and Dad vistited their local dealer to try and buy the car there and had to stand in the middle of the showroom and shout "would anyone like to take my money" as they`d been igonred for over half an hour!
Little do these muppets know (or maybe they do and don`t care), but if you leave your details, you get a follow up phone call from head office, asking "how well did we do, are we as great as we think we are?"
With a bit of luck all the slaes people we dealt with have received a mighty bollicking by now

Yes, my local Audi dealership is excellent (Harrogate). Good facilities, nice staff who are polite but not fawning, are honest if they make an error and seem to pull in custom from a huge area (I hear people travel down from Sunderland to use them as their local Audi is terrible)

Strangely, another one not far away, in a big city, is part of the same chain is shockingly bad, I will never set foot in there again.

They aren't the cheapest, but then if I wanted cheap aftersales, I wouldn't have bought an Audi....


edit to add: Lincoln Audi (part of Boston/Lincoln/Hull group) are good as well. Polite, efficient, willing to do a deal and clear on their bottom line without being pushy.

Of all the dealerships I've ever been in, Aberdeen Audi is by FAR the best. They always make me feel welcome and go out of their way to provide a great service.

Really? I have heard very much the exact opposite, but tbf, i have heard they changed their tune after Audi UK read the riot act??

I have had problems with Audi dealers too. Luckily there is a good independent Audi specialist I have discovered who does NOT charge £80 for a diagnostics check or half an hour's labour to sweep the leaves from the windscreen gutter.

I've been to Stockport, Manchester and Macclesfield dealers. The service is as dull/bland as the bulk of their cars.

None seemingly actually wanted my business. I had to plead to get served (and wait over 10 mins), only once could they organise a test drive within 7 days, then it was cancelled and postponed for a week.

One guy was so rude, explaining that most people my age, coming to drive an Audi merely wanted to tyre kick and experience the drive with no intention of buying. I pointed out the £50k Merc I owned at the time to demonstrate I was serious. He sumised that if I was serious about buying, And really wanted a drive, I would be happy to wait 2 weeks before he could organise a drive, but it would be a 10 minute accompanied drive.


I did go back 2 weeks later - to show him the £45k BMW I'd bought instead. He wasn't bothered - "Plenty of others buy an Audi without feeling the need to drive".

I must of bought 7/8 cars from them over the last 8 years or so (including for the OH) from used A3's up to a couple of new Q5's and from the word go have always felt like a valued customer. TBF, in that time only one of the cars ever needed a service and only one had a small problem so can't really comment on service dept but the sales team are a genuine pleasure to deal with compared with most of the other garages around town IMO.

Audi service departments are worst, "Sorry sir we can't find the fault (but will obviously be billing you), I would be best if you bought a new car".

maybe audi uk realised that aberdeen was a cash cow and they didnt want to be pissing off easy sales

Suprised to hear a good review of Harrogate dealer..... From my experience they were useless!

The thing is, i have found this makes the Aberdeen car dealerships (all of them), very complacent and just dont care, i was stood in VW for 15 mins before i was even taken on, and there was no one else in there, you would think they would be keen to see if i wanted anything to just pass the time.

Inverness and Elgin dealers are a lot friendlier.
