Are 'what camera' threads allowed?!

Hi all, I'm sure the question has been asked in the past but thought I'd post a new thread as technology changes fast!

I'm basically looking for a good 'point and shoot' compact camera, I'm no expert on photography but appreciate a good photo and would like something that'll take a good photograph without needing expert knowledge to set it up, though I am prepared to learn how to use the settings if it'll take a better shot!

My budget is about £200 max, give or take, and I only need it for photos, I don't really care about video capabilities. It'll be used on holidays, indoors and late afternoons/evenings so capability in different light and low light is a must (my current Kodak is useless in anything but bright outdoor light)

I've read LOTS of reviews and the Fuji FX70EXR and various Panasonic Lumix (such as TZ10) seem to be well liked, any recommendations of cameras or what I should be looking for in particular?

TZ10 is great - idiot settings through to full manual control. Good zoom range. Leica lens, so great image quality. Robust metal body. £198 at Amazon. (I have one!).

I just got a TZ10 off amazon for £170 on thursday for my mum! keep an eye out and I am sure it will drop again! TZ8 is almost identical just doesnt have the GPS feature mainly and is quite often £30-40 cheaper

I've got a TZ6 and love it.

If you're fussy about optical viewfinders then the Canon SX220 is worth a look.

Another vote for TZ8/10.

I just recommended a TZ8 for my parents recently. So far no complaints :-)
