We bought a John Deere LR135 Auto last month, and up until last week it has been working brilliantly.

However when cutting, it beeped and said that the thing at the back was full. Fair enough, I emptied it out and carried on. However when I tried to engage the blades it started beeping at me again and the revs died. Now, when I try and engage the blades the engine cuts out.

It starts fine, and drives fine without the blades engaged.

Does anyone here have any idea what could be wrong with it? I would imagine it is still under guarantee but the local dealer are dragging their feet so I thought I would check here first.

I appreciate this is a car forum, not a lawn mower forum (do such things exist?) so does anyone know where I could ask to hopefully find a solution?

Thanks! smile

Sounds like a sensor is still covered in grass. So it thinks it is full even though it isn't.

Get the instructions out, and maybe if that doesn't work, look at the fuses.

It's a nice bit of kit.....

As above, it's a sensor somewhere that doesn't want to play. Have you had a good old poke around it? Are the belts all tight (as tight as they should be)?

There'll be a wee switch/sensor somewhere that's clogged.

Problem solved!

Put it up on the lawn mower ramps and went mental with the brush. Not a spec of grass in sight and works perfectly now smile

Must have been the sensor, thanks guys! smile

I tried to find the manual on-line, but failed.

Have you found where the sensor is? It might be worth giving it a squib of WD just to keep it happy.
