Who convoy'd to LeMans with an Orange F1 & F40?

Saw a convoy of cars rolling down to LeMans last week, saw some very very special cars but didnt get any pictures

Orange McLaren f1 lm (never seen one on the road before)

Ferrari F40 (K155 plate?) my favourite car of all time.

Just to say thank you for using these beautiful cars and given someone who'll never afford one to see it being used

But isent there only 3 'orange' f1 LM car on the road, (with other 2 being black) with a 6th chassis being a prototype in the Mcclaren building...
(Which is promised to Hamilton, if he wins 4(?) World Championships).

They were parked up behind us at the carpark for the start of the race.

Got a few nice pics of them (& the apollo too).



Apparently, the F1 was the old BMW Le Man entry from '96 according to the guy driving it.

I wondered if the LM had seen racing action, lots of computer equipment where the passenger seat would be usually be in an F1, removable steering wheel etc, unless that's usual in an LM?

Oh ! Showing off moment....
I used to work at ITN and after the Le Mans win they produced the F1 in Orange, and we did a story on it.
We met them at a track somewhere in Surrey and rigged the car for sound and video. I then had the honour of doing the interview with a test driver whilst flying around. For the first few takes all you can hear is me screaming or laughing as he showed off. At the end of the filming I thought what the hell, grew some balls and asked for a go, they said yes ! It was a pig to drive and I was terrified to wreck it. But I was proud to hit 160 on a straight! Somewhere at home I have some old photos (in black and white, the cameraman was arty!) I will find them and post them.

P.S. The drive home in the rental Cavalier 1.8L was miserable.

I don't think this is an LM, LM's were pure road cars built in 1995 to celebrate Le Mans. This raced in 1996 it seems so must be a road converted GTR. I'm going to guess it might be this one

If the interior looked like the interior on this page then that probably confirms it.

However, although not in my opinion an LM, you wouldn't say no would you?

I think I'd probably prefer the race-conversion to be honest...
