Decent Pub/Restaurant for family meal
Discussion
Are thre any family friendly pubs/restaurants that can be recomended for this saturday.
The group will have a few adults and 4 kids.
I want something that is what you would call good pub grub. Steak and Chips etc, not the fancy calamari, or fancy prepared potatoes.
CAn be anywhere within 20miles of Woking. dont mind travelling for some good food.

I went there 18 months ago for a Saturday night meal with a few people. The fish pie people ordered was cold, and mine wasn't much better. The whole operation was unprofessional. But again that was 18 months ago, owners/management/staff/cooks do change, just it was that rubbish I had not been tempted to go back. But if it is better now.....

That was my memory of the place. The Four Horse Shoes in Chobham was ok the other week. 3 adults and two kids ate for under £40. Not the last word in gastronomy but if you just want pie and a pint perfectly OK

The Swan in Ash Vale. I've eaten there many times and its always been good. Also eaten at one in Pirbright, not the one on the green but on the road that leads to Normandy. Not sure what its called but it was very good!
