Ashby Folville Tonight

Went to Ashby Folville tonight for the first time this year. Very busy but weather perfect. Massive police presence with cameras, cars, motorbikes and even the helicopter. Good show though with lots of variety. Motorbikes now parked on the cricket pitch. Lots of TVR's present; chims, griffs, a lovely 3000S but I think mine was the only S there. Andy

I was chauffered there by Mycroft in his Tamora ("the only Tamora in the village" that we saw last night!) Wow, what a car...

We only wandered as far as the main field and the pub garden but sadly didn't see your S.

Agreed, a lovely selection of TVRs last night, particularly the flip paint green T350 next to the bright red Vixen S2. Both owned by same guy!

We were a bit bemused by that Tuscan as well. Just before we left at 8ish it had it's bonnet up. First time I've ever seen a Tuscan with the whole bonnet hinged at the front revealing the full engine bay. What it did show was some repairs to the front from a knock. Chassis looked very clean from front to back (unlike the bodywork) so perhaps it's a work in progress...?

There was also a blue 3000S (I think that's what it was) in a very poor state - looks like it'd just been pulled from a barn so an interesting project for someone!

The TVR in question was fitted with an LS1 Chevvy motor; as you get in a modern Corvette; light weight all ally, infinitely tuneable, bomb proof, rev happy V8 with fuelinjection and masses of aftermarket parts and knowledge

As per the OP, yes great night but very heavy police presence filming people, radar, and camera van, and video operation, etc
Police copter hovered perfectly stationary over the overflow field for a long while around 7pm ish (nice bit of flying)

I think the event has seriously overgrown the venue, and I can imagine the villagers are getting a little tired of the commotion too!!

Its a great event, be a shame if it was lost, but probably needs a re think somehow

I was thinking of attending this for the first time tomorrow esp. as it's not too far for me.

Any other TVRs going and if so what is the best time to get there?

Not sure if I can make it yet.
Ideally you need to get there by 18.00 to get on the cricket field. Otherwise you may be put in one of the opposite fields (still not far to walk). Queues build up after 6.
Be very careful of your speed especially thro' Gaddesby if you go that way. Also make sure car is A1 legal as lots of police checking dodgy number plates / lights etc (or so it appears). Andy
