I hoped they checked the chassis...

Judging from the pictures, it looks likely to be fibreglass damage only - maybe wishbones - but I wouldn't be surprised if the chassis is absolutely fine.

That's not bad damage if you pick on a bus !
Presume a relatively slow speed argument ?

Looks like a nice car.

Looking at others the seller has, does anyone pay the asking price?

For instance, the red cerb for £7,750.00, doesn't seem like a bargain, in fact any ones I have seen at salvage companies seem downright expensive!

I suspect so. My bet is that the bus swung around a 90-degree corner at a junction, and the driver either misjudged the overhang or simply didn't see the TVR - which was stationary on the other side of the road. The corner of the bus swung round and took out the TVR's wing. Am I right?

It didn't actually touch/hit the bus; rather the bus spewing hydralic oil over the road which sent the already tail happy chim up onto the kerb (hence the twisted chassis I'm lead to belive) finishing off hitting a sign post which tore the front clean off.....not nice anyway.

In a word: No.

I believe this car was inspected by the local TVR indie ,post accident, who confirmed that the chassis was bent !!!

I used to buy light damaged and/or stolen recovered salage years ago (not TVRs though), but found that even when they looked cheap, by the time you'd done everything needed (including normal serving and getting an MOT usually) they weren't worth doing. It looks like the salvage companies have got even greedier as timime has gone on and of course these days you can't sell well repaired a Cat C without the new buyer knowing about it, so you get offered much less.

While I'm only 'playing' at the moment, every Cat C (or D) TVR I've seen in the classifieds gets no further time from me.

the new owner is likely to be a bit pissed then - the listing alludes to a FG only repair !

Just goes to show how deceptive appearances can be! It looks for all the world like it's just bodywork damage; maybe that's what the seller is counting on. Caveat emptor!

I for one would be less than happy to find that a car with a bent/damaged chassis was being (knowingly so) sold and it wasn't made clear to the buyer. Especially so in the case of a TVR, given the construction that is totally reliant on the chassis for structural integrity.

(I'm not saying the above IS the case here by the way, just an observation in general).

I will speak to the previous owner and see if he has the report indicating Chassis damage....
