Don't know if it's a good move or not, but get a blue one!

I really like the focus rs & i would be torn between green & blue.

But i am not sure whether you would be a bit disappointed coming from the m3,thats a great car & surely there is more fun to be had in rwd than fwd?

But i will always love the RS as i have always had a soft spot for fords.

if i were to get a focus RS, it'd have to be blue. can't stand that vulgar green colour!!

however, if the E46 M3 is in good condition and drives how it should, i think i'd have the M3. but if you've had it a few years then maybe a change will be a good thing if you're getting bored of it.

Easier to help you if you state why, and which Focus RS? MK1 or MK2?

I think the that new Focus RS, while a touch 'overbearing' in its looks, is actually quite a fine looking car. I am sure it would keep you entertained.
I would say, try it and if you don't like it, you can always come back

I sold my csl (I no its not your normal m3) to buy a new rs and regreted it about 4 weeks in and sold the rs after 2 months of ownership, Could not afford/find a nice low milage csl so now have a Z4M coupe, RS are nice cars but i could not live with torque steer and went of the looks (started to think it looked a bit chavy) These are just my opion's, Cheers

I did this exact move on a 53 plate M3 to a green RS.
The RS is a fantastic car. It will do everything you want from a car . I do track days and general driving, shopping, everything. It does it all.
But, I missed rear wheel drive badly after 5 months of ownership. The E46 m3 was too clinical and boring. So I bought a Z4M Coupe.
The best move I have ever made.
But each to his own and you may find the RS to be what you are after. It is a great car. If only ford had pushed the boundaries and made the car 4wd I would never have sold it.
