Thumbsnap broken........again ?

Hi @ll,
I wanted to upload some photos and when the thumbsnap window with the "thumbnail" or "forum fit" lines appeared,
the "search computer" (or whatever it´s called) function wasn´t there.
Several MS windows opened and tried to download "embed" from thumbsnap,
but could not do so because the site was unaccessable ?
Just me or others with the same problem ?
XP and IE8 on my PC here, maybe the latest "update" some days ago buggered something ?

Appears to be working here. Can you try this morning? I wonder if maybe ThumbSnap was having issues last night.

Hello Matt, and welcome to PH !
Still not working, TS wants me do download a programme called "embed",
which I can´t do without changing from user to admin, too late now.
No big deal, will try next week, am off to Dragrace in Holland .

That doesn't sound right. You shouldn't have to download anything for TS. I'd suggest trying another browser first.

I still have this thumbsnap problem, and got this far in analyzing what "download" called "embed"
is being blocked by my computer : some kind of MIME data.
I have a screenshot of it but sadly cant´t post it, but found exactly the same problem in a search,
sone people have the same problem with wikipedia pages sometimes :

Seems that this MIME x-gzip-compressed is the culprit, or maybe my IE8 setup.

No, I don´t want to change browser because I am lazy,
I have been reading that deleting all cookies would help ?

It's your system. g-zip is a standard form of compressing information for sending to, or from, websites, particularly if they're large files (which images often are - compared to webpages anyway).

It sounds like the association has been lost (in rough terms, your browser should know how to handle gzip, much like it knows how to handle pictures or text, but that "knowledge" has been overwritten).

I would suspect any other browser you use would have the same issue.

What operating system are you using? Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7? If you don't know, access Control Panel via the Start Menu, then either (this varies depending on the operating system) double click on "System" or click on "System & Security" then "See the name of this computer". One of those will bring up a box with XP, Vista or Windows 7 in it.

I have sent them a noobily worded e-mail and wait for the answer,
thanks for the adress.
I deleted all cookies and ran a scan with AntiVir, no success,
maybe the TS team has an idea.
