Is anyone from PH going this year? My girlfriend and I are going and it will be my first time at the event...still need to get a new blazer.

What are the best bits?

I go every year and take some of my staff.

We go on Friday which tends to be a good day to go. Thursday is very corporate and Saturday is families, Sunday is the quietest day

I used to go to the Stewards Enclosure but found it way too stuffy, ie you have to keep you tie and jacket on at all times and there are no mobiles.

Hence these days I go to the 'cheap seats' ie the free bit. Wear whatever you want - you really don't need a blazer but you won't look out of place with one

Start at the Mahiki bar and end up at the Barn Bar. Drink loads of booze, don't watch any rowing and you will have a great time.

Just make sure you have a method of getting home as taxi's are scarce

Thanks for the tips! I think we're going on Friday and Saturday but we're staying in Fingest so someone is going to be driving....I hope.

No worries, we'll be in the Mahiki bar from around 1:30 to 6pm on Friday, so may well see you there

We always go Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I wouldn't personally bother with the barn bar on Saturday as it will be silly busy!
Mahiki is always a good craic although it is nothing compared to the Bud Bar of old.

A brilliant event! My vote is the G'n'T Bus (and the antics which happen around it with drunk dressed up posh people ), then the Barn later on the Friday On the Saturday head back to the Angel at the bridge.

We're in the enclosure today. Interesting experience so far!

The atmosphere at the start of a race is electric , worth a walk.

Not sure if they still do it , but you used to be able to buy a place on the umpires launch and follow a race , great experience.
