Ipod Headphone Question
Discussion
Hello all,
I need your advice. I've finally given in and joined a gym, so to make it bearable I'm going to need some great headphones for my IPod.
The dilemma is obviously as they will be mostly for gym use they need to be wearable... But at the same time I want a pair that I can also enjoy whilst walking the dog or sat on a flight.
I've been looking at Bang and Olufsen A8's... But have a yearning for a good pair of on ear ones and the Audio Technica ATH-M50 seem to get rave reviews, however I obviously don't want anything to huge in size!
So fellow PH members help me spend my money... Up to £200.
Thanks,
Roy

TBH I think you'll want two pairs - my gym pair take a lot of abuse (covered in sweat, catching on machines etc.) I've also had electric shocks from pairs which haven't been sweat resistant. My advice - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-PMX-80-Sport-II... for the gym and treat yourself to something decent for normal listening.
If its gym use then I'd go for earphones over headphones ... less prone to breaking and degrading with sweat.
Shure get my vote, well made, excellent sound and fairly robust. Plus I've never received an static electric shock from them (like OEM iPod earphones)

I like the look of the Shure SE315's... seem to get some great reviews and well priced as well. Anyone else had experience of these?Shure get my vote, well made, excellent sound and fairly robust. Plus I've never received an static electric shock from them (like OEM iPod earphones)

Thanks for the input so far.

Any small, high efficiency headphones will do.
Most "high-end" headphones are not very efficient and do not work well with iPods/iPhones, as they are unable to drive them properly.
Anyhow, TBH £200 is a waste of your cash for any headphones paired with a portable sound device. Save your money, or spend it on headphones to compliment your hi-fi (if you have one).
I truly am not patronising you!
