I tend to agree but in honesty Le Mans and the ACO have been emcouraging/doing this sort of thing since day one. The event had its roots with trying to improve car's efficiency…

Good idea in my opinion - taking the technology race up in this way competitively can have massive knock ons to road cars and it isnt going to do away with the proper race anytime soon

You could run a classic mini cooper with more bhp and twice the bhp/ton for the next 100 24hr races for the carbon footprint of that idea.

The idea of running a car of that performance capabilities at le mans would seem stupid 60 years ago.....

Perfectly happy with this it will help future technologies enhance, so long as the whole field is not electric and they are in a separate class then its all good.

Fully carbon neutral is a joke I wish people would stop saying that. It still needed non renewables to manufacture for gods sake!

Actually I think it's really good that they're doing it, we're destroying the planet day by day with petrol and diesel cars spewing out carbon and It's a show of respect to all planet loving tree hugging eco minded people out there and I for one will back them all the way in a show of solidarity, also next time i'm at Le Mans I shall eat nothing but veggie burgers and tofu cooked in a eco friendly way that isn't harmful to the enviroment either,I shall also cycle to Le Mans to lower my carbon footprint instead of using any form of hyrdocarbon for propulsion

Only it isn't true - They haven't invited the car to race - they haven't even invited it to participate - the car that has got that slot is the 'Delta Wing' - The Green GT and an electric powered Courage are the reserves
