Why on Earth are we giving Billions of pounds of "Foreign Aid" to countries who have nuclear programmes. Why are we giving money to countries who can afford to maintain aircraft carriers? We cannot afford to keep our own carriers afloat, and yet we are giving money to India.

We are also giving money to Pakistan. Pakistan has nuclear weapons. Do they really need our money?

We are bloody bankrupt. We are borrowing this money so that we can give it away.

Anyone who believes that Dave Cameron is a Conservative is an idiot.

It's all political. That's the best way I can describe it.

We give them money, they buy stuff from us for more than the money we give them. It's essentially a legal bribe.

Yup, all political. The money is really discounts for trade deals, preferential government access, etc. in a lot of the countries you would say WTF? about. If it didn't make us as much money as it does we wouldn't do it.

So they keep buying things off us. Particularly weapons. We're the second largest weapons exporter in the world.

See first point.

Pakistan is where most of the terrorists are. It's cheaper to have them on side by bribing them with foreign aid than beef up our security services to compensate.

The money we give away is intended creat more business for UK Plc than it costs in aid.

I guess it depends on your definition of 'Conservative' but do bear in mind both Mrs Thatcher and Winston Churchill were effective users of 'foreign aid' too.

Exactly. If the UK didn't benefit from it in some way or other, they wouldn't supply it. Same as any country, organisation, organism, business.
