I'm not usually one to over promote PH events, but I thought a few of you in here might appreciate this event and I wanted to make you aware.

It's our first ever nautical themed event, so I hope a few of you will be able to make it along smile

As it's only round the corner for me I can bring mine round if anyone is interested in having a first hand look around?

You're in.

I'll sort the day sail booking stuff very soon (was caught a bit on the hop with it being published this morning!)

The mast is only 42m high - fancy that instead?

Yes please that's great.

Just in case you don't know I'm Andy from the JST sorting the day out. I'll get your boat in, I just need to sort some berthing out for those that want to come by water. I'll get you alongside the ship so you don't have rub up and down the grotty dock wall! What's your draft please?

I've been to the top of my mast, about 14m. That was bad.

I'm glad this finally came off, I'm a long time JST supporter.

I'll come by boat!

I'll come by car or boat. I've sold my boat so it depends on what boat I can borrow! Should have something I can use at work, probably a Ribtec or a Zodiac.

Hey Andy,

I'm 3.5m draft and much better to rub up and down against you for the day! I'll only be coming round from Ocean Village so timing is very easy to work out.

Cheers

Yes she's one of the second generation launched in 2000 and was the winner of the last race in 04/05.

[quote=Legmaster]Dear All,

Thanks to those that have already e-mailed me asking for info on how to book on the day sail onboard SV TENACIOUS.

The daysail is PH exclusive event, so if you're coming please visit the main thread in the events section, add your name to the list and let me know by PM via my profile or at andy @ jst.org.uk.

I can take 50 of you out for the day (inc. SWMBO/HWMBO/son/daughter of course). I’ve also no problem with chums coming too, but if numbers get tight I’d much prefer PH’ers to get the chance first, so can non-PH’er chums be TBC for the moment please until I get a better idea of the take up.

TENACIOUS is not a passenger ship where you’ll sit in deck chairs being served Pimms by the stewards whilst my pirates pull the ropes and set sail (boo I hear you say!). That’s all done by you. You’ll be helming, pulling ropes, setting sails and for those that fancy a bit of danger - we’ll take you up the rigging (phnarr, phnarr!). As you’ll be working the ship we need some general & medical information. This can be found on the following form:

http://www.jst.org.uk/files/documents/bookingdocs/...

Please complete this form and send to voyages @ jst.org.uk We’ll then process and send you some further info inc how to pay.

The cost is £125 per person, sorry that this may not be affordable to all, but she’s an expensive girl to run and that will just about cover the costs for the day. All grub, tea, coffee, safety kit, waterproofs and as many sick bags as you can fill up will be provided on the day.

It’s worth mentioning we can cater for all physical disabilities including wheelchair users. There’s no upper age limit (oldest to climb the mast to date has been 99yrs old). The ship and the way we run them is so that all people irrespective of ability can take part on equal terms (even gingers, and the Welsh…). Have a look at our website at www.jst.org.uk for full info.

Approx outline for the day:

0815 to 0830 – Join Ship (Secure parking is next to the ship). Tea, coffee & bacon butties on arrival (veggies can have empty bread rolls!)
0845 – Captain’s Welcome & Mate’s Safety induction
0915 – Depart berth
0915 This bit in the middle will be working, eating, sailing, eating, working, sailing, eating, working, etc. All a bit vague but the Captain will sort it out on the day to make best of the wind.
1500 – Back alongside berth
1530 – Gangway down – go see the cars!

After that, it would be great if some folk could hang around for some more eating, beers & music at 1800.

I'm amazed at the interest so far, any questions, please ask away.

Thanks all
Andy
