I've been told this is the starter solenoid fuse... why would it keep blowing? Any ideas?

Turn the car on, everything lights up 100%, fuel pump gets set, on second press I hear a little spark sound coming from the boot, the starter solenoid fuse is blown.

Hopefully its a simple problem that like a wire shorting...

Anyone come across this one before?

Could be shorting out on to the bell housing/starter body?

I'll try and have a look.... if nothing comes of it, looks like shes back on a lorry, sods law aint it, just had her fully serviced and now she has to go back. But I'm figuring its most likely some corrosion on loose connection on the solenoid/starter side.....
Thanks shpub.

I recall a post a while back...similar problem IIRC and it turned out to be starter wire melted and shorting on exhaust manifold...(I pretty sure thats what i read....i'll see if i can find the thread for you).

Interesting, I will dig around in there...... I dont need to get under the car for checking anything relative to the starter motor and solenoid do I? Dont have the luxury of a ramp.... I'll try and follow these wires around, starting from starter and work my way back to battery....

Did a search on the net about starter/solenoid issues, damn, nearly every make and model has suffured from some sort of electrical shorting.... you'd think by now they'd have manufactured a better way to start the motor up.

These days I am trying to get a lot more involved in becoming mechanically clued up in certain simple things... dont want to hassle joo for everything... would be nice if someone can start a problem/cause/fix guide so that all the more experienced of us can add to it.... a hell of a lot easier than searching through a forum..... GCerbera? maybe a problem/fix log?

ok i see the starter motor, but i can also see the golden motor coil inside, is this how it is supposed to look like? i'm thinking maybe the casing of starter has pulled back?
