Eunos Roadster Front Strut Brace

What's the PH concensus on front strut braces for the Mk1? Do they make a difference or are they basically there just for show? I've had a bit of a google, but couldn't really get a clear opinion defined.

The tower brace made a noticeable difference to turn in on mine and less squirm over bumps. The front under brace tightened things up a bit more.

They say that the underbody braces are more effective than the ones on top.

top one doesn't do much - isn't really needed in a twin wishbone set-up. having said that, i've got one! (as much to mount my brake master cylinder on as anything else)

Mazda themselves fitted them to many specials and to the Mk2.5 Sport and I'm sure they wouldn't waste the money unless there was a good reason for it.

Like styling

By all accounts the lower braces make a lot more difference, as you'd expect with double wishbone suspension - there isn't the same inward force on the strut tops that you get with a Mac strut setup.

erm, with double wishbone suspension there is nowhere near the force on the turret tops compared to a Mac suspension car.
Underbody bracing is where its at with MX5's
