Who saves up to buy a new pride and joy, goes into the dealership, looks at the colour charts and all the available options and chooses brown?

Hmmm yeah, I'll have the st coloured one with the baby vomit interior please.

Why? Silver I can understand, boring but has residuals, black yes, red yes, etc etc....

But brown? Who the hell orders a brand new car in brown?

Depending on the car I quite like brown!
Though I doubt I'd order one new.

In the 70's the metallic brown Cortina Mk IV with a tobacco vinyl roof was extremely popular (as was the more orange Roman Bronze). I still think dark metallic brown is an excellent colour on the right car but probably doesn't suit modern designs as much. It's a good "woody" colour.

The people who were minded to opt for beige but had a last-minute flash of inspiration before making their choice.

Well, I agree with you OP. I've not seen a modern car that looks good sporting the clour brown. (mud excluded obviously for 4x4's)

I have a brown car, a antelope mica colour vauxhall to be exact smile

Most people laugh until they see it in the flesh, its got a nice flip in the paint and looks fine.

I also had a brown mini too biggrin

More recently the new VW amarok will come in a brown colour, our demo was in that colour and it also looked really good too.

Depends on the shade I guess

Another vote for Brown from me.

I really like the Mini in Brown, and the Disco colour, as mentioned earlier looks pretty good too

Maybe it just people thinking, I could have silver or grey like everyone else, or I could have something a bit different - After all, there enough threads on here abouyt resale silver

It's fashionable, the same people who would never have considered a white car 5 years ago now all of a sudden like it because manufacturers told them to.

Even if I saw a 458 Italia painted brown Id assume it's some 70's British Leyland POS.
