Need avdice on insurance

Ive been driving for nearly 4years and to be frank insurance prices are ridiculous, Does anyone know what alternatives i have other than insuring a VW golf mk4 2.8 v6 4motion as a main or 2nd driver?

I heard you can insure another car in youre name ie. a 1litre (cheap) with an option on the policy to drive another vehicle.. Can anyone enlighten me on this please..

Not if it is your own car, and usually your spouses.

DOC option excludes any car you own,hire,lease purchase etc.
Essentially you would be paying to not have insurance which of course is stupid.

Well fully comp as a 2nd driver it is nearly£ 2500 pa for 2.8 golf, my missea also has a 1.2 litre polo so that would be around 800 pa which would be better but could i insure her car with the option of driving other cars?

The car you're driving on the sly still needs it's own policy of insurance.

Are you really a second driver rather than the main driver? Perhaps the insurance company have realised you've been committing insurance fraud, and have decided to raise your quotes accordingly?
