Forgotten cars...

Have been having a think tonight after being passed by a Renault 21. What are the cars that are often missed out of any "what car" thread, simply because they have drifted into the void of forgotten-ness (new word). These don't need to be class leading, but a little bit special would help.

To get the ball rolling:

So have at it. What do you think get overlooked (though perhaps deservedly so) by the masses, and us too?

Definatly the 309's. What about the Citroen AX GT?

To some extent I think the 205 GTI is a little bit out of the spotlight. By no means forgotten but I don't think it gets the attention it deserves now as it did back in the day.

Galant Vr4s. Seriously quick cars that are very impressive yet seem to have vanished.

Asconas and Mantas, seem to be very over looked as well compared to fords.

Two years ago I would have said the Mercedes 190E 2.3-16/2.5-16 but they seem to have had a bit of limelight recently.

Yea from my point of view, the rover 200 BRM and Almera GTi, have never been considered, despite being reasonably cheaper and quicker than what I ended up buying at said point in time. A good point there with the 205 too I think, though we all know what it is, there are many (especially new generation) who don't know what it is. I remember pulling up next to a 206 GTi about 2 years ago and the guy asked what my 205 Gti was.....followed by the obligitory "Wouldn't touch this though, thats like 20 years old" - wasn't even worth replying to lol.

Always think the Reliant Scimitar is a bit of an overlooked classic. My dad had one when I was younger, and it was a nice car. An estate before estates were popular.

I'm sure they have a following but they don't ever seem to have attained classic car status and the prices have never really gone up.

Plenty of good drivers cars overlooked, maybe the build quality or image wasn't up there but it annoys me when people say there are rare because they were no good.
