This chap is so tight that instead of paying for a proper listing he has advertised his car on eBay with a buy it now price of just £10

ETA: Surely if someone did buy for a tenner then he'd be on dodgy ground not selling?

eBay would not be remotely impressed with him if he refuses to sell it to you for £10, though will probably do no more than charging him listing fees for whatever sum he demands for it.

I decided as I was writing this that I was gonna buy it, but it's been taken down! Bugger

You can't put a price ticket on an item in a shop display and then charge a lot more when someone wants to buy it. It's the same principal here. If it were closer I would have bought it as advertised and when the seller refused to accept the terms he had dictated report it to eBay and leave very negetive feedback.
