Hi,

I bought a 2004 Mondeo as a runabout, it's the 2.0 diesel. Car is quite tidy despite the 90K on it.

It's developed a problem whereby the power keeps intermittently dipping as if it's fuel supply is a bit hit n miss.

I gave the car a service and changed out the air & fuel filter which hasn't made any difference.

It starts and idles fine, there's no codes, smoke or diesel smell, took it to my local independent who checked it on the diagnostics and found nothing.

I'm not that clued up on diesel engines, hopefully it's not an injector problem.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Faulty/blocked EGR valve?

I've heard the Mondeo diesel engines have a lot of injector problems too, but it tends to be with the higher mileage cars I think.

Been having a think, not had time to look at it but I think if it was fuel / injector related I'd get a code, so I'm thinking that it could be a leaky intercooler.

Need to pull the nose off and have a look.

cheers

Fixed it, turned out to be a split in the inlet manifold hose from the Intercooler.

£67 from Ford and we're all sorted.
