Hi,

Surrounded by several inlet manifolds and got a stupid question.

I have a flowed and ported "hotwire" manifold , part number HRC2616, and mating that to a TVR Taraka 500 style trumpet base.

The metal inlet from the water pump is missing, as in it has a threaded hole with bung in.

I have other manifolds but when i try to unscrew the metal pipe they do not budge by normal means

Are the definatly screw in or has the modded manifold had a thread inserted ?

Regards

Nick

I had trouble trying to get mine out, as I wanted to put a bung in place, as not using it, as using the later style front and water pump. so in the end I just put a small but of hose on and then put a blank in the end of the hose.

It maybe worth trying to just by a new metal pipe, than trying to remove one from another unit.

Other option would be to sell my your one wink and get one with the right connector ported.

I've tried on a few inlet manifolds to get those pipes out (or the blanking plug where fitted) - it must have some hell of a sealant, I don't think it's a lefthand thread 'cos I tried it that way as well wink

The "sealant" is most likely to be a combination of AlO2 and FeO2.

Thanks for the help

Rimmerbrothers may come to my rescue and sell the threaded pipes as a single item.

I will have some bits left over for sure, got the flapper system of my 450SE, a TVR500 HC ported and polished manifold, trumpets and base, and then another ported and polished manifold.

Having now built up my pile I have decided to go 5.0 litre route and so the 4.5 nck engine and manifolds will be for sale but wanted to sell it running hence plodding on with the hotwire conversion, before i went megasquirt. I'll then just drop the Griff lump in, put the trumpetless base in and megasquirt that instead.
