Realign High Beams

I've done the search thing and I'm surprised not to find anything on realigning high beam considering the number of posts discussing replacements.

I noticed recently I have a proper squint from my high beams
The drivers side is roughly OK but the other miles out - hitting the road about 6ft in front of the middle of the car!

Have anyone a trick for realigning the high beams to the correct road placement and height?

Flat surface, wall and eye should suffice. Line the bad one up to the height of the good one.

There was a detailed procedure for doing this in Peter Beech's Workshop Notes I think, but that document disappeared into the ether years ago.

But by way of suggestion, using this pattern diagram:



I'd position the car with front wheel centres some 6 foot from a garage wall. Then assuming your dipped beams are correctly set up, mark a line where the dipped beam horizontal cut-off occurs and two crosses where the beam centres occur. Switch main beam on and adjust accordingly.

I even used a spirit level vertically for rough adjustment of driving lights. Passed the MOT.
