Hope to see plenty of you there on the bank, or if you are feeling flush, in the grandstand!

Yep, I'll be there, but the only reason I'll be on the bank or in the grandstand is because the car's broken, so hopefully that won't happen :-) With luck I can improve on my red light in the semis last time around...

I will be there for one day, will make a change watching for once rather than working on a car!

Well it's this weekend now! I hope there is more than 3 or 4 people there watching the 200 plus racers!

A really good meeting, virtually no down time other than the unfortunate accident on saturday morning in Super Modified qualification and a lot of sun.

Highlights for me were watching the Bird go through rounds and Graham getting a good handle on the Cuda. I felt sorry for Wayne, qualifying number 1 and then losing with a PB, which seems scant reward for a stellar weekend. The crowd was very sparse on saturday and although there were a few more on sunday the meeting was just lacking some depth. I would have liked to see NFA and Outlaw Anglia included in the programme to give some more variety and drama.

The Outlaw Anglias were at the Nostalgia Nats at Shakey. I don't think I've seen so many OA's at the same meeting before.

Maybe I am missing something, but surely the sport would benefit from the tracks co-ordinating their programmes to avoid 2 meetings on th same weekend. Outlaw Anglia is a great class and exciting for spectators and imo should have been part of the Summer Nationals lineup.

I agree it is a great class and exciting for the fans and the many fans that went to SCR would agree with you too. The Nostalgia Nationals was rammed both with racers and fans, packed grandstands, picture perfect weather, big fields in OA, Supercharged Outlaw, Wildbunch, Flatheads and of course the Gasser Circus, Norm Wheeldon had a wild one in the twice motored "Two Much" slingshot as did Brian Gandy in the "Skulduggery" altered. biggrin

I had a great weekend too and was there Friday to Sunday. I was happy with all the racing and agree it was good seeing Graham Ellis' car and the Superbird getting better and better. It did lack a bit of depth and just a whiff of nitro from a class or two would have helped.

I must admit I was surprised how few were camping in the family camping area. When we arrived it was a bit desolate. But we had a great time anyway.... DESPITE THE ****ING illegal rave in the field next door from 2.30am to 10.30am Sunday morning !!! I don't mind people partying at all, but please don't do it next to a camping ground. I spoke to Pod security the next day. They phoned the cops but they couldn't do anything (lack of resources). Just one of those things but I wouldn't want that to happen again, it was madness.

Near the top end, behind the trees? If so, that was going on all day (Sunday) aswell, could hear/see them when waiting at the top end

As for the racing, we had a great weekend! We are running our spare, less strong, engine in the car at the moment, so de-tuned it to save parts......ended up getting into the final and losing to Barry Giles! Definately a boost in the points and can't wait for August bank hol now!

Agreed it was a good weekend, though it was more windburn on the Saturday than sunburn. I think that Pro Mod is the UK's premier 'pro' class at the moment in terms of numbers and spectator appeal, although the number of spectators did not seem to reflect this. Perhaps this explains why the toilets are not gold plated as some people seem to expect!

With regard to a whiff of nitro, I would guess that most of the (very few)currently active UK fuel cars could not make it due to other commitments, e.g the one top fuel team is committed to Finland.

There would only be fuel cars there if the SPRC invited/paid for them to appear.

I realise that is the case. The point is who could they ask that could actually make it? The number of active nitro cars in this country is probably as low as it has been.

On a positive note, there will be some nitro action at the Dragstalgia meet!

Understand all of above. I was really thinking along the lines of an odd car or two showing up for exhibition passes or shakedown runs. A fuel altered maybe. A bit of "cackle" in the sunshine would have been nice. Overall though, really enjoyed the event. You have time to get to know the cars and walk around at a slower ace. The FIA events now are so good and action packed I find it hard finding time to do everything I wan to.
