Hello All,

I know its a long shot, but if I don't ask I will never know. I'm on the lookout for a Vixen fuel cap.

Does anyone know the whereabouts/have one that is in need of gainful employment hehe

Currently my car has the lozenge shape filler cap, nice enough but....incorrect frown

Thanks Andy. biggrin

mmm. Mine doesn't look like the one in that eBay listing - it's magnetic rather than latched. I had presumed it was OG.

I've been going through a similar process. I have a cap, with no locking latch, which consequently made me assume mine was broken.
Only discovered earlier this week that they were magnetic....
Anyone know where I can find a Polo shaped magnet with a 2" hole up the middle? - Otherwise its fridge magnets and super glue for me!

Don't know when exactly these fuel caps changed from the magnetic ones to the ones shown in that Ebay link.

My Tuscan V6, bought in November 1971. definitely has the Ebay type as original equipment.

Had the same thoughts as Seabass when I saw the ebay item. Believe the correct one for my Vixen should be the magnetic type.
Hens teeth hehe I would imagine, Thanks for input guys thumbup Andy.

My early S2 fuel cap hasn't got the magnetic catch or looks like the ebay cap either. It's in a bit of a state but if the consensus is that it's not an original Vixen cap then I guess it isn't worth the effort of refurbishing it. I have attached a couple of pics. I was trying to work out what the stud is for on the inside of the cap - perhaps to secure a seal?

Yes that's the one but were they ever fitted to Vixens as OE?

Hard to imagine anyone knowing what they were off let alone having a spare one. Would have to have a mightier than though attitude without even realising it. All I need now is a Vixen to go with it.
