Why not 4.4TDV8 engine in the RRS, just the RR ?

I dont want to hear all the bullst about "RRS is for fakes, RR is better" and all that ste! Just wondering if theres an actual reason why LR hasnt done an RRS with this new engine ?

I cant be the only one who thinks the RR looks a bit naff compared to the RRS ?

Two reasons, firstly it doesn't fit and secondly it's too heavy. Heard they were going to up the output of the 3.0TDV6 to offer 2 options.....it does need more grunt IMHO.

The stroke is too big for the engine bay.

Even if there were no technical or engineering reasons, it's doubtful it would be used. The Sport is lower down the pecking order than the L322 and couldn't be seen to usurp the top spec car.

This, there is word on disco3.co.uk that there are more powerful engines and a new gearbox to be introduced to the D4, and since the D4 is the platform for the RRS, you will see the changes in that soon.

8 speed gearbox like FFRR i believe. Also promising lower co2 figures and better mpg.

I think it's specsavers you need! With such dubious taste you don't deserve the 4.4 TDV8!

Nothing against the RRS, but I've never heard it's looks compared unfavourably to the FFRR before! The FFRR is an acknowledged design icon, never heard that said about the RRS!
