Will E60 17" rims fit an E90?
Discussion
Hi folks,
Well I've whittled my search down to a 335i Touring. Planning ahead for the Swedish winter though, I thought I'd look for some cheap used 17" rims for some winter tyres - bearing in mind its going to be -15'c and with a fair old bit of snow, I want to be running slightly smaller tyres than the stock E90 18" MV3s.
So - does anyone have any experience fitting E60 17"s to an E90? The offsets seem quite different (ET20 to ET37) but I'm looking at a set of 17 x 7.5J so the wheels are an inch narrower at least. Offset calculator states that the wheels will extend a further 8mm out, which doesn't seem much, but will this rub at the front when on lock? I am thinking this could be pretty disastrous with metal studded tyres!
Anyone else running E36/E46/E60 17" wheels on their E90? (E39's have a different bore size to the rest)
Cheers

I would have said no chance, however, if they are an inch thinner and only stick out 8mm sure it will be fine.
I had oem M3 wheels on mine and they were 29ET on the front and 8.5" wide, the rears were ET23 and 9.6" wide, they fitted with the correct tyres on.
This was a pre LCI E91, they would not fit the coupe and would not fit any LCI cars either.
What year is yours? I would think it is fine either pre or post PCI, but if pre then can't see it being an issue at all.

Well I've gone he other way entirely and found some 17" 1-series alloys which I hope will fit. They're ET47 vs. the ET37s which are already fitted, so closer to the hub. Being an inch narrower though (17 x 7) should keep them out of harms way, as well as working well in the snow.
Will let you know how I get on with them.
