my 6k budget

ok so sold my car today and have around 6k to spend not really any more.
looking for fun and performance.
my short list
1.Honda s2000
2.audi a4 convertible
3.trying to get a nissan 350z within budget maybe
anything else i have not thought of and should consider.
Not really a bid fan of the civic or clio 182

Quite like the boxster option not keen on the high mileage though
rx8 100% no horror stories waiting to happen mx5 had one nice cars but lacking power unless its charged
cooper s did think about those quite nice too and a subaru not really keen after buying one i am converted

From your list I'd go with the Honda S2000, reliable, fast, fun. (can an A4 convertible be described as fun?)

Or, a cheaper mk.1 mx-5 with a supercharger, muchos fun and your budget should buy you a minty one that should hold it's value.

although i like the tvr's
i am not sure it could be a daily driver or i would of added a s series on the list
and i guess the a4 convertible is more of a nice cruiser rather than a fun car.

Admitedly I love the S2000 and have been toying with getting one for a while, I also like the 350Z but am put off by the low-rent feel to the interior.

Forget the 350Z unless you want a high-mileage chavved import and even then you'd be lucky for £6K. I'd go with the S2000 from that list but again, good luck getting a decent one for £6K and five figure mileage. I would say a TVR but i just bought a cooper S and it is so much fun close the the tvr fun in a every day form so grippy and charger whine is great.

Having owned both s2000 and a Boxster both bought for less than 6k, I would go Boxster as running costs are very similar (much closer than you would think given the badges) and I think the boxster handles better and feels more special and the engine is more useable on the road (even the 2.5) these days 6k will nearly get you into a early 3.2s, which is even better.

yes owned a boxster once before and the 2.5 variant too i thought the handling was awesome and the car proved to be trouble free bar the annoying alarm going off due to corroded wires

funny how that works out did
get a subaru impreza wrx with ppp fitted from factory 3 owners with 30k and full history.Had the car a couple of days detailed it to within an inch of its life.Oil and air filter change too just because i am a fussy get.
