dash switch

I want to put a switch in the dash to turn the gearbox oil pump on and off. I need to run some wires form the side pod area to the dash switch, what route should the wires take and where do they break into the cabin?

I may also fit a hi/lo boost switch, or only allow high boost when the gearbox pump is on.

Use the spare switch next to the fog light but wire the boost controller and gearbox oil pump into it, that way for running on wastage pressure the oil pump doesn't activate then when running your mapped settings the pump does run.

Not sure where is best to run the wires though, up sill and across rear of dash or up tunnel and up to rear of switch panel?

The spare switch operates a relay on the engine side of the bulkhead already.

Run the wires down the sill, take of the L shaped access panel in the front wheel arch, this will allow you to route the wires into the fuse area and then behind the console to the switch, the cabins footwell and sill are linked via this L shaped access panel, so no wires will be visible and no cutting is required, it will make sense when you get the access panel off, this is also the same access panel used for removing the dash fixings which are visible through the windscreen.

I can hear it click on, off, when in the garage with ign on but engine off. I remember reading on here that others have the same.

Well just checked the rear of the dash panel and my spare switch is a spare, no wires connected to it, that's an 05 m400 though.

Every one I've seen switched on has a red LED illuminate suggesting that it has power to it at the very least.

Haha just checking, Well does anyone know why it's wired on the 3R and spare on the 400?

My 3r spare switch wasnt wired, used it to turn my reverse cam on the move.
