E60 tyre choice

I have decided to fit non runflats to my 2007 525d, however the 225/55/17 Contisport 2 which I chose because they carry the BMW approved(*) marking seem to be unavailable, do the tyres have to be BMW (*) approved or can I fit any make/type tyre? If so can anyone reccomend a tyre choice.
