The front badge looks to be just held on by two screws through the fibreglass.

I believe there is a plinth and a badge - are they separable? I don't know if you can see in the below pic, but the lower part of the badge where it should be chrome has come off to reveal black.

It bugs me on the otherwise flawless front end and I want to fix it.

The plinth is £30 from RG, and badge is £10. Will I need both or can you re-use the badge?

The previous owner had them treated previously, as I believe they do suffer from corrosion. Are there any better options?

Somebody made some good quality metal ones two or three years ago now, perhaps it might be worth asking where he got them made. I've seen a couple of these threads lately so i'm sure there would be a few other people interested.

I replaced all three of mine 3 years ago with new plinths from RG (having been assured they were better quality than the originals), but the chrome is coming off again. Definitely interested in an alternative offering.

Is it possible to just get them re-chromed? If so anybody know who can do it? (obviously removing the badge from the plinth first!)

I'm not too worried about having chrome bling, just want something chrome/shiny coloured that will last.

Perhaps machined stainless?

Might have to get some made then!

Do people want Chrome plated, or happy with say anodised or polished aluminium?

Anything shiney would be good - polished and laquered aluminum might last longer?

I don't know about the front of the car but i always thought it would look good on the glove box lid, i might be the only one that does though.
