gearbox question

Took gearbox out this afternoon ready for clutch upgrade. Question is, it had big sticker on top saying 'made in Mexico'?? Also, stamped on the side was TREMEC. No probs' with it at all, but just wondered as it kind of suprised me. Normal?
PS; It's a 2000 car, no external remote linkages on gearchange and an extra brace under gearbox support. [differing from what 'neal 1980' has on his 96 car].
