Alternative accommodation

Probably been answered before but...............
Can anyone suggest an alternative campsite or similar, just outside the circuit which is an easy 5 to 10 minute cycle or walk or someone who for the race hires out an area of land for the weekend, again close to the circuit. I went to Le Bounty on friday but it was too far away and dont want the package they offer- looks like a great place however.

Several people now have private camping areas on the ACO sites, so extra security/toilets/etc.

Our site is completely private away from the public campsites located just behind the Porsche curves. We have hot/clean toilets and shower facilities (hopefully doubling for next year) aswell as Sky for complete coverage during all sessions.

Alright Mick ! No problems with Houx but its always good to hear of alternatives. We liked Le Bounty when we had a look on friday but its a tad too far out. Some friends want to go next year who want to camp but don't want to stay in the circuit campsites. We will use the Houx again in 2012 - see you there ? Rs2oo said:

Won't be at the 24 next year, Classic for us. Will be back in 2013 though, probably in Houx, although I like the look of some of the more secure sites, but they all seem to be a win some lose some compromise when compared to Houx. I agree about Le Bounty, lovely place but yes, just a touch far I think.
Le Bounty is obviously further away from the track, however they will take you wherever you want to go, whenever you want to go, as many times as you want.
I've only been to Le mans twice, but from what I have seen, you can be chauffeured to any part of the track by Le Bounty, in about the same amount of time it would take you to walk from a campsite on the other part of the track (10-15mins?)
Want to go out in Arnage or Le Mans on the Friday night without someone having to drive? And be picked up? Plenty of people staying at Le Bounty this year did.
Being away from the circuit isn't for everyone, but I can honestly say that this year, I couldn't have got any more out of the Le Mans experience than I did at Le Bounty.
Going to give the classic a try next year at Le Bounty, hope to see more PH'ers there.

Cheers Beeznitch. Blimey! a rare event, a regular trying to encourage others to book! most try to discourage others to keep their pitches safe lol! Seriously, some valid concerns over distance and some equally valid responses. We did 3600km of shuttle driving this year and one thing i'll say from doing this for 4 years now is it seems to me me you can't get anywhere quick around Le Mans these days. We have managed to suss out some very useful routes which get us to various points of the circuit pretty quickly.However, our package is our package but whatever the OP chooses, good luck and hope you have a great Le Mans 2012.
