The Daily Fail getting cars wrong again

What is it with the Daily Mail and not being able to get a single car correct in any news story. I occasionally go on the website for a bit of a giggle, only to find that any article involving cars is always incorrect.
The latest example is this about tax-funded disability cars being BMWs. The caption talks about a 320d and later again in detail about the cost of one. Yet the picture is of a BMW X5 M Sport.

Daily Mail.It's stupid but indicative of the car knowledge of the general populace. I got told I was "obviously getting paid too much" because I "can afford a sports car". I paid £500 for my tatty MX5.
What's worse is when you get the local newspaper and their w

I disagree, purely on the basis that the X5 is a more expensive and (to some, not me) more desireable than the 320d, therefore it could be percieved to be a more blatant exploitation of the system. But you are correct in the context of the article, it wouldn't make a huge difference overall, it's just inaccurate and makes it look slightly worse.petrolveins said:

Nope. Far more worrying that the, deeply cynical, Daily Mail is attempting, yet again, to undermine the policy for providing mobility vehicles for the disabled by headlining a small number of abusers. Presumably they want to go back to the days when the disabled knew their place and were lucky to have one of those three wheeled death traps condemned by Jackie Stewart back in the 70's...The latest example is this about tax-funded disability cars being BMWs. Why don't they care about which model car appears in the picture? Because they're so deeply cynical it doesn't matter what car appears in the picture. As long as it's bigger and better than the average reader's car, and incurs the appropriate amount of jealousy and rage, job done...

I think the Daily Fail are being used as the propaganda machine this time for the Tories........... so they can create the Motability scandal so the electorate think that it is right that Motability users must only have a default semi auto/diesel Citroen Nemo or Berlingo in White....then Osbourne can introduce this criteria as it is in the national interest in these days of austerity.....and all that bks.....
My neighbours do the same with their mum's motability..... Meriva... it does many a trip to the EU...France & Benelux in the main and since December 10 it has done 15,000 miles so far.....

Does their Mum go with them?I bet *loads* of them are driven without insurance, used almost as pool cars by some families and their friends.

Loads of people will be heading into BMW dealers today with the article in their hands saying "gimme one of those". 
(Why do BMW's, especially the X models, always look so much better in pictures than in real life - do they airbrush them, like fat celebs?)
All disabled people should be driving one of these, how dare they drive an able bodied persons car that looks normal, the cheek of it, though it may explaain ten percent of the X5's that park in disabled spots.....
I agree that it should be looked at and abusers have the benefit removed.
