New to Cerbera
Discussion
I've just been given a Cerb. as a hire car to replace my crashed Tusc. I was just handed the keys and left to it. Are there any points I should not regarding driving, looking after etc. I have to confess to knowing only a little about the Cerb and do not wish to spoil what looks like a super car.
Anyway any tips or pointer please...

Watch it on a bend at high revs, the traction doesnt bed in, it floats, you'll know what I mean.... apart from that, very much a raw beast like your tusc was...
just get used to the flat spots and time the acceleration right, it doesnt have a great throttle response as the Tuscan Speed 6, (I'm assuming this is a V8 cerb).... but when those revs start, you're up in 6 & a half before you can say 'jesus ch'...
Enjoy!

I don't know about other TVRs but with the Cerbera you should select reverse by shifting into 5th first then straight down into reverse. Also expect a lot more girls begging for sex and more crowds drooling over the car, but you soon get used to it.
Sorry, but perhaps you should consider a price you would accept for your Tuscan cause you will be replacing it soon with a Cerbera.

Stop right where you are and take your hand of the gearstick!
Doing that is a good way to cause your 5th syncro to balls up. 3rd is better, but better still is to alternate the pre-select gear you choose.

Yep no syncro on the Tuscan either, I tend to use 1st.
Not sure about giving up the Tuscan yet. I'll drive this for 3 weeks first before I pass jugment.

Indeed it does. Hence why a fair number of Cerb gearboxes have had failures of the synchro on 5th.

Trust trooper1212 on this one.... 5th is the weakest gear and shouldn't really be used before putting the car into first. I use third mainly, sometimes first, and rarely 4th. I always avoid 2nd, too, as it's the gear that you're always changing through so gets more than its share of the work.
