Wtf,my old 330ci stereo (not hk) sounded 10 times better than my (not hk) stereo in the M3. Could there be a fault, as there is NO bass?

Only difference is that the M has a cd player. 330 had cassette.

a number of times.... the bass does change when adjusting, albeit not very noticeable. is there 1 amp?

Are you sure you have the same stereo setup in both cars. I believe there were three different setups available in the E46, the basic which had six speakers, an uprated one which had ten speakers and finally the HK which had 12 speakers.

i think they both had 6. 4 in the front doors and 2 on rear shelf. the 10x being where?

My 330i has had the original cassette player replaced with a CD player - I had reason to try the old cassette player and noticed that it sounds nowhere near as good! I happened to notice the on/off/volume knobs are differently sized too, so despite looking similar at a glance they're obviously rather different.

Sorry, a lad I see around who had a 330i and now has a E46 M3 who had Gaz on his number plate.. thought it might be you.

I have a 330i Sport saloon and a E36 M3 Evo Convertible. Out and out speed, the M3 will run circles around the 330i.

Only gains for me on the Sport is the toys it has, but as you can get all these with a E46 M3 then for me, it would have to be a M3.
