So following on from the diaster of the resurfacing work on this road, and the subsequent go-slow and temporary road surface warning signs, does anyone "in the know" have any idea what they are going to do to the road, and when they're likely to do it?

I'm getting fed up getting pelted by stones from people flying past me, especially as I'm on the motorbike, and believe me, it feels really, really slippery in places!

Not to mention that some people cannot seem to stay in their lane without road markings to guide them. Have been nearly hit every single day I've been on the road!

That 30 mph speed limit/no overtaking sign is pretty much being completely ignored at this point, too.

Really? Didn't think this would be possible. I've now got a chip on the offside wheel arch which I spotted as I was coming down there, as well as a chip in the bottom centre of my windscreen. Both within the last week whilst on here going back towards Coral Reef.

So that's where all my stone chips came from !!

That will teach them for aiming that speed gun at me last year

Is this something we can all do? How do you prove that the chips came from that road?

I was being followed by a marked police car doing 30Mph on the broken bit yesterday, we got passed by a dope in a Mazda doing 50 who got pulled over. I'm not sure how blind you have to be to be to miss the 30mph signs, they're sited about every 50 yards.

And i thought they were also advisory and not compulsory signs?

Not illegal, just inconsiderate.

I guess the police could still consider it driving without due care & attention or just driving without consideration for other road users...

Not only will we have to claim from Berks CC but also Surrey CC

as south of the M3 the Lightwater bypass and the bridge between West End and Bisley was also gritted
At least the serface isn't as bad but there was a hell of a lot of stones flying about at the time

I think if they have the red ring around them, they're compulsory.

I drove down here a couple of days ago - didn't realise what had been going on, just assumed it wasn't finished - there's no "surface" in some places, just slippery black stuff. I guess cars have long since chucked all the loose gravel away frown

I know that, it's just when I went down there the other evening when it was very quiet I thought they were warning signs so I completely ignored them. paperbag

There are still loose chippings between lanes, as I found out from the incredibly considerate in the brand new range rover who overtook an artic half way towards Bracknell, showering my offside and bonnet in a load of gravel.

Seriously, i'd like to complain about this and see what can be done, but I'm not sure which routes to go through. I need to use this route daily, but whince every time I enter the reduced speed area as everyone hammers it past, totally ignoring the no overtaking and 30mph signage.

I've just been to get a quote for my front end re spray and I'm going to sent it off the County Council,
they are the one in charge of the roads

Considering I spent a fortune only the other year on a rebuild and full re spay I'm not a happy bunny

Are there any solicitors on PistonHeads in this area who can back up our claims
