As it says, I am not about to start smacking my Planet Ocean on the side of my kayak but I really need to be able to keep an eye on the time, so I need a watch that will take a bit of a bump now and then and a regular dunking when paddling or surfing in at the beach.

Now you guys have come up with some brilliant suggestions in the past so the game is on, thanks in advance.

And there's plenty of G-shocks that will do the job for half your budget as well.

That's the problem. You end up buying about 10

Okay, thanks, is there a simple version? some of them look a bit OTT to be honest!

Yep, defo a G.

Failing that, maybe a Seiko SKX007/009.

If you want to try before you buy H Samual stock them, though some stores seem to keep more than others.

Hmm 100 meters is not really enough for kayaks, the 200m is risky but thanks to that link posted above I bought the blue one smile

It's simple and does just what I want it to, I will only use it for the kayak, my Omega's will always be my first choice!

Thanks all and I will post a piccy when it arrives !

A Riseman G Shock will tell you the low and high tides at a glance.

Riseman gives you altitude, pressure and temp, but not tide. Gulfman or Frogman is where it's at for super tough tide displaying time pieces, although only the first one will come in at under a ton.

Hi guys, just joined the forum but been lurking about for a bit smile anyway regarding the op question i would say Rotary Editions. purchased a 800C around a month ago. RRP is £369 but most places you can get them for around £100/150. looks pretty tough and rugged looking.

Congrats on the purchase, I have taken my G-Shock diving to 115ft/35m wreck diving a few times and it has been fine, I'm sure yours will survive kayaking.
