Can anyone recommend a good spot for lunch near Chichester for tomorrow? Going to a family funeral at the Crematorium tomorrow.

The fish house in Chilgrove. Website appears to be down but it's the sister restaurant to the Crab at Chievely. (not quite a pub but nice place with a separate bar.)

The Fish House went into admin sadly. Not sure if it is trading still.

ETA The Anglesey Arms at Halnaker (A285)does some nice food.

Wow, that's a shame. We had a great weekend there earlier in the year. Details here of the administration:

Went there after Supercar Sunday last year, very nice lunch. Hope it can be 'refloated'.

The Royal Oak is my favourite pub in Chichester, followed closely by the Star and Garter, but both are quite pricey. If you want more normal pub food check out The Fox Goes Free (fantastic location) or maybe the pub down at Del Quay which is nice too.

Arse - I'd just sweet talked my mother into baby sitting for a night at the fish house. Such a shame, it was an excellent place.

My parents live in Bracklesham Bay and always give good reports on The Old House At Home.

As per my other thread (in South Coast section) we ended up in George and Dragon on North St. The burgers were very good! (and so were the chips)
