Chelsea AutoLegends 2011: 04/09/11

PistonHeads joins with CAL (That's Chelsea AutoLegends, by the way) to create London convoy

2011 marks the second year of the Chelsea AutoLegends event taking place at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea. The event focuses on showcasing the very best in classic cars, super cars and racing cars from all eras, (along with the usual scattering of quality exhibitors and eateries, of course).

This year the spotlight will be on the sixties with special displays showing the very best racing cars, iconic road cars and drivers from an age when London really was the centre of everything. In addition to the sixties theme, more than 30 classic Le Mans racers will be on display alongside countless other important historic machines.

There will be displays of the brutal Group B rally cars of the 1980s, classic motorcycles and the 10 most significant road cars of all time, as well as 50th birthday celebrations for the two most iconic British cars of the 1960s, the E-type Jaguar and the Mini Cooper. There will be supercar and bike cavalcades too. And that's where we come in, as

PistonHeads will be supporting a supercar run from the RAC Club in central London to the event in Chelsea on the Sunday morning of the show.

Once the cars have arrived they will be parked in their own separate display area so you will get to see them up-close, but we hope to see many of you en-route as we bring London to a standstill with a noisy spectacle in a way only PHers can (have we told Boris about this? - Ed).

More details on the PistonHeads supercar run will be announced in due course as organisation is still taking place, but in the meantime if you would like to buy a ticket for the event itself you can do so here.

Tickets are priced at just £15 in advance for adults, £10 for 12-16 year olds and free for under 12s. All adult tickets include a souvenir yearbook valued at £10.

We look forward to seeing you there.

on Sundays a lot of london is free parking. (except double yellows obviously) but you should be able to get parks down near to Chelsea, then walk the rest. I did last year

I had my Alfa SZ there last year and have been accepted again this year, it is a really good show, the range of cars on show is amazing and everyone will be playing "dream garage" or "if i won the lottery i would have".One word of caution if anyone is taking an old car make sure you have some spare water, last year it was avery hot day and we were kept waiting for along time right back along the embankment and i saw at least three cars boil up,one of them was a lovely alfa montreal!.Thats why i am glad i am not taking my jensen interceptor it does like to boil up if its kept waiting. See you all there!

Brilliant event last year, helped by super weather on the day. Corvette Club UK will be represented again this year.

Not a bad idea!

I'd avoid getting too close, I left my car (with the perils of the general public smile) and went for a wander around the immediate area and it was very busy...did see some lovely cars parked up mind.

My Vette has been accepted and I'll be there.

Just thinking what a neat business idea for the organisers, not only people pay to visit it, not even the individuals displaying the cars pay for the "privilege", we also have to pay for ticket like the visitors smile.
