Donington Night Race Cancelled?
Discussion
As per the press release on their website, Donington no longer list the Britcar Night race in November:

They also suggest that their finishing the season early to bring forward development work, and the Britcar meeting was the last one on their Calendar.
Anyone know anything about this?

Someone just told me (I haven't read it myself) that britcar are quoted in this week's Autosport saying the race might not happen. Haven't heard anything from Britcar myself though.
It wouldn't surprise me if it were cancelled, I've heard the same rumour. Britcar are experiencing a lot of bad luck this season what with compliance with the MSA issues, tracks/venues effectively changing the goal posts on them at the last moment, and other annoying/disruptive impositions they have had to cope with so I guess they may well look at this one, if true, as being par for the course in a somewhat difficult administrative season.Quite a few teams including ours have found it heavy going this season and it's easy to blame Britcar for all our woes. They are not without fault in some areas but overall they certainly got the wrong end of the stick from the racing establishment in one form or another and it has caused no end of problems, a personal view of course.

Communication is all.
To be fair To Britcar on this one, Donington have been spectaularly bad at managing the entire situation, first they messed up with the planning agreements, then they put out a press release without talking to any of the organisers, then races are on, then they are off then on again. I know of one race weekend, thats been cancelled and reinstated 4 times so far...I suspect Donny dont know if they can put on the night race yet, which is why nothings been confirmed to Britcar either way...

Quite sure it's a nightmare. My only point is - if it's in Autosport (and I haven't seen a copy) then it's as well to drop the competitors an email too.
True, I havent seen autospud so is it britcar or donny that have mentioned it may be cancelled, it wouldnt surprise me if it was donny that had said that and not told Britcar, if britcar then yes they should have mailed competitors first !!!!As per the above article James was contacted by the paper for a comment on the issues Donington are having and was asked what would happen IF we couldn't race there and James responded that we want to support Donington but IF we are unable to race there because of their issues with planning we have contacted the MSA and put into place a contingency plan IF we need it. As the article clearly states nothing has been decided by the circuit, the council or Britcar but we simply have put in place an alternative plan IF it is required.
At the moment we are waiting for the result from Doningtons meeting with the local council which is due in the next couple of days. Only at that point will we know what the situation is and THEN we will advise all cometitors what is happening.
