Just considering options being as I've ruined my life and the mrs is due in a few months....

I've got an E36 Touring, it's fine and does it's job well. I've been looking at child seats and the convenience and robust fixing nature of ISOFIX seats is appealing, but obviously my 1997 E36 doens't have ISOFIX mount points....

Is there any possibility of geting them retrofitted, or is this the kind of thing people won't touch with a 10 foot pole due to potential liabilities?

I'm not changing the car simply to get ISOFIX, but if someone could weld the brackets in for £100 that would be ideal. If not I'll have to throw caution to the wind and strap the child to the roofbars... I mean seatbelts.

IMHO wouldn't get hung about about ISOFIX, lots of decently rated seats (i.e. tested by Which) that use 3 point belts.

If you're that worried by safety you'd better get rid of the E36!

Nope.
I survived a Triumph Dolomite and an Avenger, My kids are sure ass hell going to get ferried about in a 13 year old shed too. I'll take my chances and avoid crashes in the first place, ta!

Thanks for the advice, it seems like ISOFIX retro-fit is a bit of a non-starter and 3 points are the way forwards.
